The Klinikum Dritter Orden interdisciplinary Breast Centre represents a close association of all the specialised treatment partners that are indispensable for the very best diagnosis and treatment of breast diseases – breast cancer in particular. For this the specialist, organisational and structural conditions were created under one roof. Every specialist discipline was staffed with the top professionals and equipped with the very best technology. And all that is backed up by the entire infrastructure of a specialisation clinic – right through to an interdisciplinary Intensive Care Ward.

In this way we are able to ensure an interdisciplinary procedure from diagnostics and surgical treatment, oncological therapy and radiotherapy right through to palliative care. Our supreme priority is quality-assured diagnostics and treatment in line with our guiding principles, applying the very latest scientific knowledge. Equally important is the aim to provide patient-oriented, individual and empathic care catering for the needs and wishes of the sick person. Our concern is to give the patients entrusted to us all the help they require in coping with their disease.

OnkoZert is an independent institute contracted by the German Cancer Society to administer the certification system for monitoring organ cancer centres and oncology centres in accordance with the corresponding technical and professional requirements.

The aim of the German Cancer Society (DKG) and other medical specialist societies is to promote the creation of oncology centres with a stipulated standard of quality on a voluntary basis, and thus improve the treatment and care cancer patients receive. In oncology centres, cancer patients are treated and looked after holistically throughout the various phases of their disease. The holistic treatment and care of patients is only possible with a network of specialists from different medical and nursing specialisations in which the specialist departments gear their manner of working reciprocally to the needs of optimum treatment and care of patients.
